Hello, I would first want to point out that I have been playing Underdone for many years now. I have played on various servers and have encounted this bug each and every time. I've seen the other threads on this website addressing this issue but I couldn't come to a conclusion as to what could be causing this to happen.
To explain my problem thoroughly, as soon as I connect to a server that hosts the Underdone gamemode, my camera (or fov) will rapidly zoom in and out. If it continues to fluctuate, it will worsen and the view will be locked at what I would describe as a extremly high fov. If the problem isn't stabilized, the screen would soon turn black and leave me unable to see the gameplay. I am able to open the chat, faq and menu that contains the inventory and settings, etc... but at that point, I can do nothing to fix it but reconnect to the server to reset it, but the bug will occur again. (Note: Members in other related threads have mentioned that their Gmod crashed after experiencing this issue. Though the symptoms seem exactly the same, my game has never crashed once this occured.)
Most times, I am able to stabilize the bobbing by facing towards an area of the map where there are few things to process (This is only my assumption of how I would temporarily fix this problem as a result of my previous methods.) Some times, the issue only last for a few seconds before it stops, or i'll just continue to repostion my character and where I am facing until it finally stabilizes. But at some point, there's a chance that the bug will permently become extremely "aggresive" when I spawn into a server and nothing I could do would stabilize it, leaving me unable to play that specific server. (Note: None of the options in the settings tab affect the bug. Changing fov in the console doesn't affect it. Camera fix doesn't even seem to do anything at all from what I could tell.)
This has happened on many servers I have used. I don't know what causes the bug to change in this way. It appears to happen either randomly or for some reason that I don't have the knowlegde of to understand.
But I do have theory as to why the bug occurs in the first place though. I personally believe that this issue might have something to do with the scoping mechanic for snipers. Recently, I crafted an SR25, and after zooming with the scope, I realised that the zooming mechanic would change the camera/fov view in a way that was functioning similarly to how the bug would. I kept experimenting with it and found out that I could completely replecate the bug by using its scoping mechanic. If this is some how related to the issue, I assume that something is wrong with the mechanic and is causing it to behave irregularly when loading the Underdone gamemode. I am currently unsure if this is a problem on my end, the server's or the gamemode. I ask that this would be looked into by someone, just in case.
I can also provide photo evidence if need be. I don't know any ways of how I could record it.
